Bangkok here we are! Eccoci qual Bangkok
Wat Arun
We reach our hotel with train and taxi and we are so tired but we decide t9 get out and eat and see something!We end up on a public boat to Wat Arun, a nice site, named after the god Aruna, king of sunset! Nice buildings and colors!
Arriviamo all,hotel prendendo treno e taxi, e siamo stanchi ma decidiamo lo stesso di andare a fare un giro. Prendiamo una barca del servizio pubblico (20bht) il vantaggio è che si salta su e si scende quando si vuole, stimo fino al capolinea così abbiamo una bella visione dal fiume. Le linee fluviali sono arancio o gialle sono express con meno fermate o più lente con più fermate, tanto per confondersi esiste anche un “servizio turistico” che vendono biglietti (arancione e gialli) per 200bth che si può salire e scendere quando si vuole, ovviamente con biglietti a 20 normalmente non conviene, al rientro scendiamo a Wat Arun un bel sito che prende il nome dalla divinità Arun, il re del tramonto. Bellissimi edifici con incredibili colori. Le strutture sono ricoperte di cocci di piatti un tempo importati dalla Cina. Raccontano che i piatti usati erano quelli che arrivavano rotti a causa dello scarso imballo…

Hours of sleep get us ready for the largest weekend market in South East Asia! Chatuchak Weekend market. Moving around is a bit messy between taxi ,tuc tuc mototaxy, bus we manage to get there. Google map is pretty good also with local busses you looad your itinerary and you go. If you use taxi ask to use the meter ( not always taxi drivers want it because they make more money if they bargain a price) the underground metro and local LTR Is faster then busses but more expensive. Busses could be crowded and sometime you wait a lot.
Dopo 13 ore di dormita ci prepariamo per visitare quello che dicono sia il più esteso mercato del fine settimana dell’Asia. Gli spostamenti posso essere un po’ difficili. Molte opzioni , taxi, tuc tuc, mototaxi, bus. Google map non è male se inserisci la destinazione ti dice la linea e fermata da scendere che con alfabeto thai dato che non sempre le fermate sono nel nostro alfabeto. Scaricando poi offline map di Google si riesce a capire quando scendere. Il biglietto si fa sul bus quando passa il controllore, il problema può essere spiegare dove si vuole scendere per il calcolo della tariffa.. Se usate taxi chiedete di usare tassametro dato che è sempre più conveniente di trattare prezzo. A volte i tassisti si rifiutano , aspettate e cercate un altro taxi, ci e capitato di avere aspettato 5 taxi prima di trovare uno che accettasse il tassametro. I tuc tuc sono le cose più care, segue il trasporto su rotaia su sopraelevata o sotterraneo poi taxi poi mototaxi e poi bus pubblici. Le metropolitane sono il sistema più rapido, ci sono biglietterie automatiche, esistono tessere che si possono caricare e sono più economiche esistono pass per più giorni, ma noi non volevamo fermarci troppo quindi niente tessera. Potete fare la tessera in aereo porto quando arrivate.
Also the boat system is cheap 15-20bht for jump on no metter the length of your travel. The problem is understanding if is going in right direction and if it stop in the right place.
anche il sistema di trasporto,è molto economico, Non c’è differenza basata sul numero di fermate , il problema si crea quando non capisci che direzione va la barca… perché tutte hanno fermate diverse! Mistero che si risolve stando sulla barca finché arrivò al punto giusto e se arrivi al capolinea scendi e troni indietro sperando che questa volta si fermi dove volevi!

il mercato di Chatuchak è molto interessante, attenzione a borseggiatori, zaino di fronte … comune la tecnica lametta da barba per aprire borse. Appena fuori dal mercato stazione di polizia con accesso internet per turisti e polizia che da informazioni turistiche. Se usate L’app Galileo ( fortemente consigliata) avete anche la descrizione di ogni sezione del mercato cosa potete trovare.

Afternoon more walking. On he river with the boats and the China Town, other huge market , and after MOjto at sunset on the 23 floor of Grand China!
Nel pomeriggio altro girovagare, sperimentiamo altri mezzi di trasporto metro etc. Finiamo in Chinatown pieno di gente e interessanti mercati, per il tramonto decidiamo di salire al Grand China Hotel.

Lots and lots of people, water 10bht, ticket is pretty pricy 500bht
We took a guide but probably not worth, a good guide book or audiobooks will do the trick and you are not rushed to go out in 1h. The main and more interesting part is the first part where the emerald Buddha is, if you get out of that area you cannot go back in.
Oggi visita al Grand,Palace, prendiamo una barca per arrivarci e poi una breve camminata! Prendiamo un guida non tanto preparata purtroppo, avremmo dovuto aspettare e prendere delle audio guide ma pazienza! L’amore parte più interessante è dve è tenuto il Buddha smeraldo , ma anche le costruzioni circostanti sono molto ricche!
The structure is all covered with glass tiles with gold leafs coming from Italy/ questa stupa e tutta coperta di piastrelline di vetro ricoperte in fogliame d’oro che arriva dall’italia!
Here you can admire the emerald Buddha , a statue of the Buddha carved out of some precious stone coming from north of Thailand . Is a very sacred object and was moved from different location and differente country too with wars etc. No pictures allowed. In questo edificio si può ammirare il Buddha smeraldo , intagliato in giada locale.. nei tempi è stato trasferito da città a città e anche in altri paesi. Ora è qui e non si può fotografare!
These Chinese statues where brought back on the ship coming from trade with China as use to weight the boats otherwise empty.
Queste stare cinesi venivano portate sull’emergenza navi e usate come zavorra! Finito il giro ci spostiamo nel prossimo cortile.

Another very sacred place with more then 800 statues of the Buddha in the different position. The gold and richness is overwhelming, is also the home of the Reclined Buddha 45 my long /15 my high all covered with gold ,
un altro luogo sacro I tailandesi con più di 800 statue del Buddha in differenti posizioni. L a ricchezza di questi lavori è strabiliante! Qui troviamo anche il Buddha sdraiato, una meravigliosa statua di 45 metri in lunghezza e 15 in altezza, con piedi giganteschi tutto decorati in madreperla!

Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha), It’s one of the largest temple complexes in the city and famed for its giant reclining Buddha that measures 46 metres long and is covered in gold leaf
If you cross the river 3bhtcrossing ferry you get to Wat Arun

Grabbing a bite, if you are vegetarian will be hard to eat on these stands, you can ask for a vegetarian dish but it will strongly taste like what was cooked before ( mostly fish and chicken)
And then amulet market…amazing experience! We get there a bit late and everything is shutting down we will be probbbaly back when back in bankog. Ps do not get misled by the amulate market that is registered on Google map, Go north close to the Prachan pier.
We closed the day with a great Indian dinner!
mangiare vegetariano in strada è decisamente difficile… cuociono uttto in olio di pesce e se non è cotto in olio di pesce è cotto in una pentola dove hanno cucinato pesce o pollo, che sono alimenti base della dieta locale!
poi mercato degli amuleti bellissimo e interessante peccato stia chiudendo! Torneremo prima della partenza!
